Abstract
A circuit model is introduced for electrically small antennas (ESAs) based on their frequency-dependent polarizabilities. This circuit model can be used to analyze the frequency response, radiation quality factor (Q), and radiation efficiency (ηeff) of ESAs. In addition, a new method of printing antennas onto arbitrarily contoured substrates is introduced. This fabrication method has the potential to greatly improve the accuracy and ease with which ESAs are fabricated. A spherical helix ESA is analyzed and fabricated.
