  • Abstract
The paper follows a trend that in the recent years has been growing in interest: the assessment of the electromagnetic field in the Fresnel region of a radiator. A first version of the method, which does not require the use of any full-wave solver, has been recently presented and successfully applied to linear arrays. Its generalization is reported here, thanks to the definition of a more accurate model of the antenna and a global update of the method itself. The proposed approach allows a conservative and reliable estimation of the field radiated in proximity of a generic antenna array, being in the same time simple and easy to apply. The method is first analyzed from a theoretical point of view and then validated by means of comparisons with full/wave simulations.
