Abstract :
The design of generalized low-density parity-check (GLDPC) codes at both check and bit nodes over AWGN channel is considered in this paper. The new codes are referred to as doubly generalized LDPC codes. EXIT charts are used to optimize the parameters of these codes. Both analysis and simulations show that this method can provide more flexibility in constructing codes with good threshold
