Abstract :
Mustafa and Glover conjectured (1990) that the norm of the closed-loop transfer function monotonically increases as the specified norm bound γ increases, if the so-called central solution is used for controller. In this paper, a simple counter example is given to this monotonicity conjecture. A sufficient condition which guarantees the monotonicity of γ-characteristic is shown. A new upper bound for the closed-loop norm is derived which is differentiable with respect to γ
