Abstract :
The research on product lifetime distribution is an important basis for assessing and improving product reliability level. The accelerated life test on nonmetallic gaskets was carried out and the failure data were obtained. After analyzing and processing these data by using the methods of least square procedure and K-S hypothesis testing, the lifetime of these gaskets was found to obey the Weibull distribution. According to the probability density function of the lifetime distribution, the reliability characteristics such as life expectancy and failure rate were obtained then. The research of lifetime distribution here provides a theoretical basis for predicting lifetime of the product and assessing its reliability characteristics as well as applying reliability growth technical measures in the nonmetallic gasket sealing.
