Abstract
To facilitate the development of a powerful CAD/CAM software, an extensible CAD/CAM software framework is presented. Based on the design of an architecture of the framework, the development and management of extended tool-bar and task plug-ins for human-computer interaction is detailed, and the management and operation of the data of CAD models is discussed. The development of the prototype of the CAD/CAM framework indicates that it can work correctly and can be extended easily and efficiently.
