Abstract
A model that analyzes the response of the Dahle probe is developed. This probe has a unique feature as an eddy current nondestructive testing probe. The model is successfully applied to predict a response to a long flaw. The experiment and numerical calculation were conducted for two cylindrical holes and another experiment was conducted with a plate. It was confirmed that the response of a Dahle-probe to a flaw can be simulated well and the result of the calculation can be used as a "point-spread function" in a signal processing procedure.
