Abstract
Discusses the existence, uniqueness and regularity of weak solutions for a damped nonlinear hyperbolic equation in bounded domains subject to very general external (boundary) control. The form of the nonlinearity in this class includes as special cases those arising from nonlinear stress-strain laws which result in nonlinear stiffness terms in the equations
