  • Abstract
    Applying single lane cellular automaton (CA) model, this paper discusses how vehicles affect each other so as to qualitatively account for chaotic mechanism for freeway traffic flow. Then, based on Greenshieldspsila model we construct dynamic discrete traffic flow model with the form of logistic map and present dynamic analysis for this model. We take the occupancy as model variable and the ratio of free flow speed to average speed as the control parameters of the model. By controlling the constructed model parameters we theoretically analyze the different traffic flow condition and the producing and transformation mechanism of chaos for freeway traffic flow.
