Abstract :
A novel circularly polarized microstrip antenna fed by coupled microstrip lines is presented. The antenna is printed on a single layer substrate. Circular polarized wave is excited by a pair of side-concaved square patches. A balun from coupled microstrip lines to microstrip line is designed to measure the antenna´s performances. The experiment results show that the maximum gain is 9.71dB and the bandwidth of 3dB axial ratio is about 80MHz. The return loss (<;-10dB) bandwidth is 160MHz from 5.71 to 5.87GHz. This antenna not only has high gain and low profile but also is easy to be integrated with microwave circuits.
