Abstract :
This paper deals with the embedded real-time application of the fast compensation of the hysteretic characteristic of a magnetostrictive actuator for micropositioning tasks. The actuator and its compensator are inserted in a closed loop system with a Proportional-Integral controller. The numerical computations are performed by a PIC microcontroller, embedded together with the current amplifier on a very compact PCB.
