Abstract :
This paper investigates the frequency- and time-domain properties of mode 2 four-arm spiral antennas. First, the antenna´s complex far fields obtained from method of moments (MOM) simulation are used to synthesize the transfer function of the communication link. Then, the time domain response is obtained by post processing the frequency domain data using the Inverse Fast Fourier Transform (IFFT). The dispersion of spiral antennas and associated pulse distortion of the communication link is evaluated over wide field of view for different source pulse shapes, and antenna geometrical parameters.
