Abstract :
This paper proposes a novel structure of micro-ring resonator filter: N-order micro-ring matrix resonator filter. The steady equations are established according to the method of transmission matrix and the transfer expressions are solved in the conditions of 2-order and 3-order. Their filtering performances are comparatively analyzed with the micro-ring array with the same number of ring. It is found that when the parameters are the same, N-order micro-ring matrix resonator filter has the characteristics of wide pass band, great shaper factor and no side lobes so that it can be used in the WDM system of wide channel and high capacity.
