  • Abstract
    This paper compares the well-known locally optimum (LO) performance metrics of efficacy (ξ) and asymptotic relative efficiency (ARE) for two types of robust LO detectors. In particular, closed-form expressions for these metrics are derived for the histogram and Fourier series approximation (FSA) implementation algorithms. Additionally, they are evaluated for the case of Cauchy noise and compared to results given in the literature. Thus, simulation analysis is no longer the only method for determining robust LO detector performance
