Abstract :
Active development of industry in many regions and consequences of economic activity of industrial enterprises caused irreversible damage to the environment. In connection with this fact the task of providing good quality drinking water at the level of modern standards to the population of settlements in ecologically unfavourable regions is rather problematic. An alternative source of drinking water is underground water. Development of the explored reserves for drinking water supply is impeded by the nonconformity of their quality characteristics to the existing sanitary requirements. Some experimental research was conducted in different settlements of the Kemerovo Region with the goal to develop a complex technology of drinking water production using underground sources in ecologically unfavourable regions. New structures of water treatment units were developed and examined that make it possible to intensify the process of water treatment from admixtures.
