Abstract
The purpose of this research is to develop a framework for managing the development of platform strategy under the network context. By developing a strategy with the framework, the platform provider shall obtain competitive advantage based on network effects. The managerial framework is constructed based on network effects and conclusion of case studies on representative emerging platforms, including Microsoft .NET, NTT DoCoMo i-mode, and Apple iTunes/iPod. These platforms constitute a new landscape of ICT industry, and they jointly can provide implications to platform strategy development
