Abstract :
In this work, the realisation of a chip in a 0.5 /spl mu/m CMOS process capable of full-duplex communication on a twisted pair cable at a speed of 1 Gbit/s is presented. It includes an on-chip impedance matching circuit to match the circuit to the cable impedance. The chip runs at 3.3 V power supply and consumes about 57 mA. Measurements are done with a 2.2 meter twin-ax-shielded pair between two of these chips.
