Abstract :
The peak current control is a strategy widely used to control devices such as forward converters or two-level choppers. This strategy provides an imposed switching frequency of the output voltage and good dynamic performances. This paper presents the application of this strategy to a multilevel voltage source converter. An algorithm controls the level of the output voltage in such a way that the output current follows its reference. The principle of operation is introduced, and the implementation of the algorithm within a FPGA is demonstrated. Finally, the experimental results are presented.
