Abstract :
In many wireless systems, amplifier-induced distortion of transmitted signals is problematic. As a result, there has been much work done in the area of amplifier predistortion methods to compensate for nonideal amplifier characteristics. In CDMA systems, however, many proposed predistortion methods may be difficult to implement when feedback power control mechanisms are employed; this is due to the fact that amplitude predistortion may affect the transmitted signal envelope. Therefore, in this work, a phase predistortion method is proposed for the 3/sup rd/-generation CDMA wireless system cdma2000 that provides the benefits of amplifier predistortion without adjusting the transmitted power.
