  • Abstract
The pick head is the key unit of cotton picker and the spindles are the basic building blocks. In this paper, the mechanical analysis of slope spindle was studied under the conditions with or without pressing force, and the friction force formulas were derived. The relation between the rotation angle of spindle and the force was studied by the friction force formulas deduced. The results showed that the rotation angles of the slope spindles under the condition with pressing force were bigger than those under the condition without pressing force. Furthermore, the operations of level spindles and slope spindles were compared. The results showed that the rotation angles of the level spindles were smaller than those of the slope spindles under the same force condition. It indicated that the level spindles were easy to brush off the cotton and the slope spindles were easy to pick the cotton. As a result, in view of actual production requirement, the level spindles were more according with the actual production.
