A Research on Project Management: Hot Topics and Main Knowledge Groups

When theories and research fields become much mature, it is important for researchers to understand and grasp the development and trends of a field or discipline. Based on studying of former research, and used the method of social network analysis, this paper revealed the project management discipline´s development from the network´s interior structure and the fifteen hot issues in this field. The paper also discussed about the dynamic switch process of these hot topics. Then based on key words´ co-word matrix, Multi-Dimensional Scaling Map analysis and main component analysis summarized four main knowledge groups in the project management field, Project management´s knowledge domain, process domain, innovation domain, and public domain. At last, the new trends were analyzed and the conclusion was drawn and discussed.
