  • Abstract
Global business information systems are examined with respect to current information systems development approaches. Many of the latter are deemed to be inadequate because they are inherently static, both in nature and in the way they are developed, and because they are both functionally and at the user interface level, not adaptive enough. An explanation for why this is so is offered, through a mock theorem, the fixed point theorem of information systems. Living information systems thinking is offered as a conceptual solution from which practical approaches might evolve
