Abstract
Adaptive power control has widely been used in the DS/CDMA system to overcome the so called “near-far” problem. This paper studies the effect of an open-loop power control error on the performance of a CDMA system, which is overlaid in downlink by a narrowband signal. The power control error is assumed to be log-normally distributed. The performance of the CDMA overlay system is simulated via Monte Carlo simulation
