Abstract :
It is well known that wind turbines are vulnerable to lightning, which can cause serious damages to its components. Risks may derive not only by direct flashes but also by indirect lightning in proximity of the turbine. In this paper we present numerical results for the estimation of electric and magnetic fields generated by real tortuous lightning channels, in order to appoint proper protection on electric and electronic equipments in wind farms.
