Abstract
This paper reports on how Internet facilities and their usage are developing in the UK. It is primarily intended to enable a comparison with the position in the USA, the Mother of the Internet. It begins with a summary of the author´s experience of moving to the Internet world from the OSI world, and then discusses trends in UK usage, the relative use of different Internet facilities, the growth of service providers, possible future developments, and some general issues
