Abstract :
Frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) mm-wave radar offers high range resolution in a compact, low power system. We present recent improvements to our 94 GHz FMCW imaging radar, AVTIS, which extend the maximum range to approximately 7km whilst maintaining a range resolution of around 1.5 m. This has been achieved by using a low-phase noise, highly linear YIG oscillator in the frequency-multiplied transmitter.
