Abstract
The paper describes the various functions that IED´s play in today´s power networks. They are used for protection purposes, power quality analysis, network monitoring, energy metering. They have to be equipped with transmission protocols that are used in substation automation like IEC 61850. To fulfill the requirements of the functions that IEDs perform, advanced algorithms of digital processing of the input voltage and current sample sequences have to be used. In the paper a resampling in digital domain algorithm has been described that is used by protection and power quality analysis functions. Three digital integration filters for Rogowski coil output signal have been presented and compared.
