Abstract
This paper presents a combined analytical and numerical approach to identify and accurately compute the magnetic force excitation in electrical machines. The method is based on convolution of airgap fields. Space vectors are used to visualize the results. The presented approach is applied to three different types of rotating field machines: a BLDC, and IPMSM and an induction motor drive.
