Abstract :
An improved effective medium theory to study the interaction of the electromagnetic field with carbon nanotubes composites is presented. Analytical derivations of the effective material tensor are achieved carefully through appropriate homogenization formalism. The proposed theory is self-consistent and in conformity with experimental results in literature. Analysis is provided to demonstrate that carbon nanotube composites could support left-hand wave propagation.
