Abstract :
The Time-Shift-Technique (TST) is an innovative optical point measurement technique to characterize droplets and particles in the range from 1μm to 1mm. This paper reports on measurements on irregular particles, ice crystals and snow agglomerations, on inhomogeneous droplets, an emulsion as a mixture of water and milk and on non transparent water droplets loaded with fluorescence dyes. With standard point measurement technique this types of particles could not be characterized so far.
