  • Abstract
This paper proposes a new modelling technique to calculate steady state call blocking probabilities in intelligent networks under overload conditions. The proposed technique considers the possible mutual influence of the signalling and trunk subnetworks on one another and the impact of customers´ reattempts. This technique uses first a decomposition step which divides all the intelligent and non-intelligent services in a network into service classes, services and actions. Then the evaluation step (iterative by nature) is used to calculate call blocking probabilities. The application of this technique to a simple circuit switched intelligent network is investigated. Good agreement between analytical and simulation results is shown
