Abstract
This paper presents the statistical and theoretical analysis of Nth-order diversity combining and finite-tap equalization in cellular and PCS radio channel. The diversity paths are statistically independent. In modeling the multi-path radio performance, we take into account co-channel interference (CCI) generated by frequency reuse and additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN). The performance evaluations are made of average error probability and outage probability. Error rate is estimated by using moment method. The average error rate is determined by using a Monte Carlo simulation for a set of channel parameters such as signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), signal-to-CCI ratio (SIR), equalization coefficients determined for this channel
