Abstract :
The rapid rise of producer service industry within the world draws the attention of many scholars at home and abroad since the middle of twentieth century. The relevant research results are constantly emerging. The article describes the progress of producer services from the following four aspects: (1) the implications of producer services; (2) the contribution of producer services for economic growth; (3) its interaction with manufacturing industry; (4) the relationship between producer services and regional development. The producer service industries can satisfy the intermediate demand and provide intermediate inputs for other enterprises. The producer service industry outputs usually conclude knowledge capital, technology capital and human capital. And they can promote economic growth and regional development. Otherwise, the relationship between producer services and manufacturing industries becomes more and more affinitive.
