Abstract :
This paper researched on the PL-TCM pickling cold rolling mill of WISCO which was introduced from Mitsubishi - Hitachi Company. Design a mill monitoring and diagnostic system by LabVIEW, which can realize the new functions such as collecting, processing, displaying and storing the parameters such as mill rolling force, motor current and voltage, rotational speed, vibration; history data playback; time domain, Frequency Domain, time-Frequency domain analysis. The PL-TCM unit began to emerge obvious thickness fluctuations from the original ±2μm to ±5μm since February in 2009, created 1726 tons inferior materials in this month. This system is used to diagnosis the fault of strip thickness by analysing various parameters which may affect the thickness in time-domain, frequency-domain and time-frequency domain, and has discovered the source of influence. Under the guidance of this result, we have resolved the problem by using a fixed repair early in march. The thickness fluctuation restored to within ±2μm, which avoided the further losses to the enterprise.
