Abstract :
The throughput performance of a slotted, non-persistent Idle-Signal Casting Multiple Access with Failure Detection (ICMA/FD) protocol is analyzed under conditions of receiver capture and propagation impairments including Rayleigh fading, lognormal shadowing and distance-dependent path loss. Numerical results are presented, which show that throughput degradations due to receiver threshold can be significant, and hence should not be ignored
