Title :
Analysis of delay performance of ATM signaling link

Abstract :
The paper presents an analytic model to explore the delay performance of SSCOP (service specific connection oriented protocol), which is a signaling protocol for establishing and removing B-ISDN connections in a switched virtual circuit (SVC) ATM network. A comparison with simulation shows that the analytic model works very well in spite of many complexities of the protocol. Such a model is invaluable for choosing appropriate protocol parameters, setting delay requirements, and for studying error monitoring algorithms for ATM signaling links
