Abstract :
This paper discusses technical issues for ATM network performance and QoS and their standardization by ITU-T. It also reviews the activities of the ATM Forum in related areas. It includes characteristics and issues for negotiating QoS classes and QoS parameters related to ATM cell transfer performance. A method for evaluating point-to-multipoint connections related to the call processing performance and a method for measuring the availability performance on the ATM layer are also described
