Abstract
A comparison is given between model-reference adaptive control (MRAC) and variable-structure adaptive control (VSAC). The two control schemes are implemented in a microprocessor-based DC drive system. Different control algorithms and experimental results are presented. It is shown that VSAC is more feasible and flexible than MRAC for the particular application
