  • Abstract
Successful independent innovation depends on the ability to integrate external and internal knowledge. The purpose of this study is to verify the relationship between knowledge integration and independent innovation performance in software industry. Therefore, 132 projects of software industry are chosen as research samples. A theory model is constructed based on literature review, and independent innovation performance is measured with product innovation and process innovation. The statistic results show that external knowledge integration, internal knowledge integration, intensity of user involvement, project knowledge base are significant positive correlation with the product innovation performance, and internal knowledge integration, project knowledge base are significant positive correlation with the process innovation performance. Meanwhile, project knowledge base is acting a moderator between internal knowledge integration and the process innovation performance.
