Abstract :
Several researchers suggested that tacit knowledge sharing is much different from explicit knowledge sharing. Accordingly, we extend Bock and his colleagues´ works to investigate the differences between the motivators for explicit knowledge sharing and those for tacit knowledge sharing. Results gathered through vignette design with 217 valid responses show that explicit knowledge sharing is stimulated by both extrinsic and intrinsic motivators, while tacit knowledge sharing is stimulated by intrinsic motivators only. Implications and limitations of this study are also discussed in this study.
