Abstract :
The radar cross section (RCS) reduction of microstrip patch antennas for low-observable platforms is considered, with emphasis on the application of lossy superstrates. The observed effect of these on antenna parameters is related to expected RCS reduction using results from the literature. The RCS computed by a finite element method/method of moments code is also presented. Other RCS reduction techniques discussed include shorting posts and ferrite substrates
