Abstract :
This paper describes novel approaches for the electromagnetic design of packages and on-chip wiring structures for acoustic RF filters. The influence of electromagnetic effects on the performance of SAW and BAW filters is discussed. A new design method using simulations that help to get an understanding of the relevant effects together with highly precise dynamic all-in-one simulations for selectivity improvement is presented by means of an example. Possible compensation mechanisms to improve selectivity are compared and a real life example is presented.
