Abstract
An easy to use semi-empirical model for the scattering from grass grain heads has been developed with the assistance of the T-matrix method for determining scattered fields. It is shown that that physical grain model is significantly different than the more commonly employed dielectric cylinder nuclei and that the derived empirical model can be used to efficiently replicate results obtained from the numerical analysis
