Abstract :
The FEA model was built and modal analysis was executed for the loader hood structure. The mathematical model of topology optimization on continuum structures was established based on the solid isotropic material with penalization (SIMP) theory. A new layout of the ribs of loader hood was gotten through topology optimization using OptiStruct software. The results show that the improved design of the hood not only reduces the structural weight but also meets the dynamic characteristics requirements.
