Abstract
The magnetic traction force which attracts paramagnetic particles from a fluid towards a single-wire system carrying current is calculated. The equations are developed when an external magnetic field H 0 is applied along: the positive x -, the negative x -, the positive y -, and the negative y -directions, respectively
