Abstract :
To get geometrical description of linear dependence of steering vectors (SVs) in tripole antenna arrays, linear dependent steering vectors distribution area (LDSVA) is defined and proved for single tripole. In the linear polarization signal case, it is found that the LDSVA is a great circle which is perpendicular to the linear polarization direction of the known signal on the unit sphere surface (USS). The results are further utilized to study LDSVA for the two tripoles array. It is found that the additional tripole reduces LDSVA to two points except when the signal DOA is on the equator.
