Abstract
A new motion compensation method for Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar (ISAR) is presented in this paper. It is a result of the improvement on the previously presented cross-correlation method. The new method is based on dynamic range compression and accumulation of consecutive range profiles to improve the range and phase alignment accuracy, and can obtain images with higher quality. Moreover, it provides a basis for further compensating for the other causes of defocus in an ISAR image
