  • Abstract
Process reliability improvement is a goal through which we ensure that the process will continue to deliver long-term sustained performance. In this research, a reliability analysis is conducted to enhance the performance of a carbonless coated paper machine used by Appleton Paper Inc. The machine´s subsystems will be identified, studied, and determined their current reliability. Recommendations will be introduced to upgrade and repair some of the subsystems that cause machine breakdown frequently. A cost analysis will then be performed to justify investments and determine savings anticipated by applying these improvements. The anticipated enhancement in the machine reliability will also be calculated to evaluate the conducted study
