Abstract
A description is provided of a modular, fault-tolerant signal processing architecture, with emphasis on application software development from the user´s perspective. A description of the Westinghouse signal processor hardware, which will be fully operational in 1988, and its comprehensive software environment is given. The development of mission software for a typical surveillance radar system is presented, indicating the support software and hardware that is needed at each step
