  • Abstract
    This paper describes a multicarrier data transmission system using the cables of airport lighting circuits to transmit several thousand bits per second. Impairments due to noise from a thyristor phase control and nonlinearities caused by transformers are circumvented by restricting data transmission to appropriate time slots. Equalization is based on reference carriers. After a short introduction the transmission channel is analyzed. In the main part, the transmission procedure is presented. We conclude with results obtained from a practical implementation
